Title: Program Director
Reports to: Club Director
Work Type: Salary Staff
Status: Full-time, exempt, benefits eligible
Salary: $35,000 to $40,000 based on experience
Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton (BGCH) delivers outcome-driven experiences that enrich kids’ lives by impacting Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. We support and provide active learning, academic pathways, arts experiences, and creative learning environments. BGCH is currently looking for an Program Manager to join our team at the East Avenue Club OR Grand Boulevard Club.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Prepare Youth for Success
- Ensure programs, services, and activities that prepare youth for success, promote safety of members, and quality in programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to Youth Development Professionals and members.
- Assist with administrative systems by registering new members and participating in their Club orientation process.
- Verify quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests.
Program Development and Implementation
- Create fun and engaging programs that reflect BGCA programs and member interests.
- Create weekly program schedule that reflects the program model and continuous quality improvement.
- Provide program outcomes to appropriate staff at assigned intervals.
- Participate in program planning meetings with other programming staff.
Health and Safety
- Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising YDPs and members in program areas.
- Guarantee relative program areas are clean, orderly, and safe.
Relationships
- Provide individual guidance and establish relationships with members that are conducive to their growth and development.
- Maintain daily contact with Club staff, including full-time, part-time, and volunteers, to discuss issues challenges and opportunities; provide and receive information as warranted.
- Continue contact with other youth-serving agencies, schools, and parents of members.
- Provide supervision and direction to Youth Development Professionals and volunteers.
- Deliver success stories and photos about kids engaging in activities for marketing purposes.
- Supply activity attendance and lesson plans to Executive Director for outcome reporting purposes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in professional development trainings as required BGCH.
- Keep ongoing inventory of supplies and materials needed to conduct effective programming.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Club Director or Executive Director.
- May participate in special programs and/or events outside of working hours.
- May be asked to drive Club van.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year experience in youth development required.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards.
- Ability to work with a team.
- An understanding of the needs and interests of young people.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to interact with young people in a positive way, particularly as it relates to behavior issues.
- Maintain a positive, friendly, and cooperative attitude at the worksite.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR and First Aid certification. Can be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Title: Youth Development Professional

Status: Part-time

We support and provide active learning, academic pathways, arts experiences, and creative learning environments. BGCH is currently looking for Youth Developmet Professionals to join our team!
Multiple positions are available at the Clubs located at 958 East Avenue Hamilton, OH 45011 and 2020 Grand Boulevard Hamilton, OH 45011, Highland Elementary, and our collaborative location at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, 1140 S Front St, Hamilton, OH 45011.
After School Hours: Monday-Friday approximately 3:00 pm – 7:30 pm, days vary depending on your availability. Would prefer someone who can work 3-5 days per week.Summer Hours: Monday-Friday approximately 7:30 am - 5:30 pm,days vary depending on your availability. Would prefer someone who can work 3-5 days per week
Pay Rate: $10-$12.00/hour depending on experienceOVERVIEW
Youth Development Professionals run daily programs which align with the core areas of BGCH and BGCA (Boys & Girls Clubs of America), while supervising youth and implementing our 5 key elements: Fun, Supportive Relationships, Opportunities & Expectations, Recognition, and Safe, Positive Environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise youth in all program areas; ensuring their safety, while instilling positive values and ethical behavior through quality programs.
- Ensure that youth are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities, and that they receive guidance and constructive feedback to develop skills in those program area(s).
- Manage a healthy, safe and clean environment, ensuring facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained. All staff must dust mop, wet mop, wipe down all surfaces and computers in their areas, and keep rooms clean and in working order throughout the day.
- Establish positive relationships with youth, their parents and/or guardians, and fellow staff members.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS PREFERRED- Experience working with youth & knowledge of youth development programs
- Ability to be on your feet, active and engaged with youth
- Ability to motivate youth, and manage behavior problems in a positive manner
- Ability to organize and supervise youth in a safe environment
- Good communication skills
- CPR and First Aid certification a plus
